When a woman’s body is found floating in the port of Palamós, Cecilia Soler, a former police officer and resident of a small cove in Empordà, promises herself she will stay out of it. But when her former partner, Marc Vila, finds himself stuck in a dead-end investigation, the deputy inspector she once was reawakens. Between coffees and Latin lessons with her neighbour Aurelia, an observant and ironic elderly woman, spending sleepless nights facing the sea and secrets that smell of diesel and salt, Cecilia finds herself drawn into a plot where nothing fits: a yoga centre with too many shadows, a luxury hotel lost among vineyards and a group of characters who hide more than they show.
