Estás en mis ojos / You Are In My Eyes
A fascinating novelised life of the photographer Hélène Roger, through the eyes of a policewoman harassed by her colleague.
Paris, 1985. The prestigious photographer Hélène Roger, founder of the famous Roger-Viollet photography agency, is murdered at the age of eighty-three by her husband and business partner Jean Fisher. Police inspector Isabel Santolaria immediately takes charge of the investigation together with inspector Michel Étienne, with whom she has an extramarital relationship, built on domination and violence. But soon Fisher commits suicide in his cell before the trial begins. Unable to endure the oppressive harassment of her partner any longer, Isabel makes a decision that will mark her life.
In 2019, Isabel, in her sixties, is writing the memoirs of famous people in the shadows. One day, she receives a call from Carlota Masson, a former employee of the Roger-Viollet agency, who asks her to write Hélène’s biography so that her life is not buried in oblivion. From then on, Isabel will have to recall the hardest years of her life and weave the threads of the story of a woman ahead of her time who made a place for herself in a man’s world.
