La piel dorada / The Golden Skin
A story of crime, passion and secrets in the heart of a golden Vienna in its splendid decadence.
Vienna, 1904. A series of murders shocks the city. The victims are young models of dubious reputation, all linked to the artistic milieu of the Secession, the most provocative group of artists of the time.
The case is assigned to Inspector Karl Sehlackman, and the clues soon lead him to La Maison des Mannequins, a modelling academy run by Inés, a woman of dazzling beauty and a troubled past. In her orbit, a painter dominated by obsession, an aristocrat marked by guilt and a world in which desire and art are intertwined with death.
“If someone were to ask me who Inés is, I would not hesitate to answer. She is art. Art in each of her movements, in each of her gestures, in each instant of her existence. Art that thrills and sublimates the spirit, that stirs the emotions. The most beautiful work of art. Inés.”
